The Onshore Wind

 

The onshore wind

causes waves

to roll up onto the beach,

one upon the other.

 

A Douglas fir sways gently,

while a great blue heron

alights silently

on a bare branch

and sits motionless.*

John Legate

John taught philosophy in Toronto. His Master thesis was entitled, Zen and Creativity. He studied with three Zen Masters and learned Tai Chi from a Taoist master. He was asked to teach in 1989. He has given talks, workshops,and seminars in Zen and Tai Chi for over 30 years in Canada, the U.S.A. and Mexico.
