Alone but not Alone

 

No one has come by today.

The beach is empty.

Yet, there is the company

of the tall Douglas firs

that silently and solidly

line the beach,

while soaring seagulls

play in the onshore wind.

 

How could there be

anything lacking?*

John Legate

John taught philosophy in Toronto. His Master thesis was entitled, Zen and Creativity. He studied with three Zen Masters and learned Tai Chi from a Taoist master. He was asked to teach in 1989. He has given talks, workshops,and seminars in Zen and Tai Chi for over 30 years in Canada, the U.S.A. and Mexico.
